Moon Corona Controls and Settings

Every input method and configuration option explained.

Last updated:

Moon Corona supports multiple input methods and offers extensive settings for customization. Whether you prefer keyboard and mouse, controller, or a hybrid approach, this guide covers every control option available.

Keyboard controls

The keyboard is the default input method for Moon Corona. Here are the standard key bindings.

Movement: WASD or arrow keys move your character on the tactical grid. Holding shift while moving moves two tiles instead of one, consuming extra movement points.

Card play: Number keys 1 through 9 select cards from your hand. Press the corresponding number to select a card, then click or press Enter to confirm the target. Right-click cancels the selection.

End turn: Space bar or Enter ends your current turn. You can also end your turn through the on-screen button.

Camera: Q and E rotate the camera. Scroll wheel zooms in and out. Holding right mouse button and dragging rotates the camera freely.

Menu: Escape opens the pause menu. Tab opens the inventory. M opens the map. C opens the character screen. J opens the quest log.

Interaction: F or left-click interacts with objects and NPCs. This includes opening chests, talking to characters, and examining environmental objects.

Quick save: F5 quick saves your game. F8 quick loads the most recent save. The game also auto-saves at specific story milestones.

Mouse controls

The mouse provides precise targeting and camera control.

Left click selects targets, interacts with objects, and confirms card plays. Moving the mouse over the tactical grid highlights valid movement tiles and attack targets.

Right click cancels card selection or opens a context menu when interacting with NPCs and objects.

Scroll wheel zooms the camera in and out. This works independently of the keyboard zoom keys.

Middle click and drag rotates the camera around your character. This is the fastest way to adjust your viewing angle during combat.

Mouse and keyboard together provide the most precise control for tactical grid positioning. The mouse excels at selecting specific tiles while keyboard shortcuts handle movement and menu navigation.

Controller support

Moon Corona fully supports game controllers. The game automatically detects connected controllers and switches input prompts accordingly.

Left stick controls character movement on the grid. Tilt direction determines the tile you move toward.

Right stick controls camera rotation and zoom. Tilting rotates the camera while pushing up or down zooms.

Face buttons (A, B, X, Y on Xbox layout): A confirms selections and plays cards. B cancels and goes back. X opens inventory. Y opens the map.

Triggers: Left trigger cycles through card hand. Right trigger ends your turn.

Bumpers: Left bumper rotates camera left. Right bumper rotates camera right.

D-pad provides quick access to menus. Up opens character screen. Down opens quest log. Left and right navigate menu tabs.

Start opens the pause menu. Select opens the settings.

Controller vibration provides feedback during combat. Heavy hits, critical strikes, and environmental effects trigger distinct vibration patterns that help you feel the impact of your actions.

Settings options

Moon Corona offers extensive settings for customizing your experience.

Graphics settings include resolution, fullscreen mode, frame rate cap, and graphical quality presets. You can also adjust individual settings for texture quality, shadow quality, and particle effects.

Audio settings control master volume, music volume, sound effects volume, and voice volume independently. Subtitles can be toggled on or off with adjustable text size.

Gameplay settings include auto-save frequency, camera sensitivity, movement confirmation style, and card play speed. You can also enable or disable combat animations for faster gameplay.

Accessibility settings provide colorblind modes, adjustable UI scale, screen reader compatibility, and one-handed control schemes. The game supports remapping all keyboard and controller inputs.

Key binding customization

All keyboard and controller bindings can be remapped through the settings menu. Navigate to Controls in the Settings menu to access the remapping interface.

To remap a key, click the current binding and press the new key. The game will warn you if a binding conflicts with another action. Conflicting bindings must be resolved before the change takes effect.

Controller button assignments follow the same process. Select the action you want to remap and press the new button on your controller.

Default bindings can be restored through the Reset to Defaults button in the controls settings.

For tactical precision, keyboard and mouse remains the recommended input method. The mouse provides faster tile selection and camera control during complex combat encounters.

For relaxed play, controller provides a comfortable experience for exploration and story segments. The automatic camera following and simplified input work well outside of combat.

Hybrid play using keyboard for movement and mouse for targeting offers the best of both approaches. Many players switch between methods depending on the situation.
